DVICO TVIX HD-6500A
Mark: Average The DVICO TVIX HD-6500A is a multimedia player ("most advanced jukebox
on the planet") that supports many codecs in resolutions up to 1920*1080P:
Format : .mkv, .avi, .wmv, .mpg, .iso .vob, .ifo, .mp4, .asf, .tp, .trp, .ts, .m2ts, .mov(H.264)
Codec : MPEG 1 / 2 / 4, AVI, XVID, WMV9(MP@HL), H.264(BP@L3, MP@4.0 and HP@4.0) , AVC(HD) , VC-1(MP@HL, AP@L3)
It is a Windows based media player and NAS that supports NTFS and FAT32.
Using NTFS (recommended!) is can be accessed under the WPS via Netdrive via its built in LAN interface (gigabit, 10/100) or certain WLAN USB sticks.
As an samba server it cannot be accessed via OS/2 NetBIOS via TCP/IP as sends no NETBIOS name from its domain TVIX (even when using othdomains = TVIX, IBMPEERS in IBMLAN.INI):
[F:\\]net view

\\\\DESKPRO
\\\\MULTIBOOT
\\\\ZOLDER Samba 3.0.20b-3.19-1616-SUSE at zolder
De opdracht is uitgevoerd.
But the samba plug-in of Netdrive can access it under its IP address.
Server : IP addres
Share: tvixhd1
User: tvixhd1
Password: tvixhd1
Domain: TVIX (or your own)
EA support is on (NTFS needed!)
I use the FC/2 shortkey Crtl_W to open its folders.
The device also has an option to mount as a client NFS (fast with GB LAN!) and SMB mounts (slower), but I did not manage it let it connect to OS/2 NetBEU or NFS2 (yet ;-).
It also has an FTP interface that can be used by
ftp://tvixftp:serialnr@ip-adress
But many FTP clients have trouble with it (even under Windows).
Anyway, its good to know that the Netdrive samba plugin works well under the WPS and with files > 4 GB when using NTS on the TVIX NAS side.
