Samsung 2253BW widescreen monitor

Mark: Average

Just thought I would post that the Samsng 2253BW monitor works perfectly with eCS v2RC4, ATI Raedeon 9600 Pro AGP and latest SNAP. The INF file cannot be imported by SNAP, but it does auto-detect the monitor and all of the supported resolutions are there including the optimal 1680x1050x60 which is an 16/10 aspect ratio. I post this because I have seen a lot of reports that SNAP will not recognize anything but 4/3 and 16/9 aspect ratios. I think most problems with SNAP and widescreen are caused by poor DDC tables for the monitor. I have experienced this with mostly older monitors. Whenever I buy a widescreen for a client I test it on eCS and so far all widescreen monitors are detected correctly and about 25% of INF files could not be imported by SNAP but the monitor worked anyway. Hope this helps someone.
