Users of eCS/Rus are able to download cryptographic library for GOST 21847-89 (state standard in exUSSR), XObject - technology for visualization of complex configuration files.

• AiR-BOOT is a highly customizable boot-loader with colored menu, built in Setup and some other features that no other boot-loaders offer today.
• Virtual Device Drivers:
  • VCOMPAT is a special VDD, that will fix some issues in VDMs to further enhance compatibility.
  • VDMA is for virtualization of DMA transfers within any VDM (Virtual DOS Machine).
• "OS/2/eComStation - VDM Compatibility List" - list of DOS games working in OS/2. ANY working game was started/played using the DOSGAMES.set configuration.

StarOffice 6.0 / ODIN

With the latest weekly build it is - once again - possible to run StarOffice 6.0 and OpenOffice 1.01. StarOffice requires Freetype, OOo does not. Printing does not work - even touching the dialogs crashes the office. Saving in native .SX-format might fail. Use the 5.x format then.

Opera 5.12 - Better surfing for OS/2

Opera Software releases Opera 5.12 for OS/2 today after extensive beta testing. Stability issues from the previous versions have been fixed, namely INI file corruption from starting a second copy of Opera, background problems with GIFs, and running Win32 plugins.

Nice version 4.6 uploaded on Hobbes and ready for free travel. Everyone can get it from here. Then it will be placed here.

Now ready about 1/4 as promised. A look of programm is changed, now it looks like an extending of OS/2 System Setup. Fixed bugs in ODIN and SMP support. Added NumLock trigger-function in text mode. Network Neighborhood is rewrote from the begining, so Open and Save File Dialogs work better. Also, you can change priority for applications.

Enchanced Setup for Nice. Now it searches for preveously created INI-file, takes it and makes backup. Default setings are easy for install and use in eComstation enviroment.

But this is not a stop for Nice. In future - we want to make Clipboard control more flexible and easy for use, start batch-file after Logon-procedure, changes in VIO, etc.

Next version of Nice will appear in winter, 2002 or spring, 2003

Java 1.4 and Mozilla for OS/2

August 14, 2002 - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - Golden Code Development today announced a comprehensive service solution, which includes a new, OS/2 port of the Java 2 Standard Edition ("J2SE") platform, release 1.4, and ongoing development and support for the the Mozilla Web Browser under OS/2.

Michael Slavnitsky informed us that Return to castle Wolfenstein is working in OS/2. You need Odin released at 28/04/2002.

The game requires 3D-accelerator (Voodoo1 or Voodoo2). It was succesfully runned in 960x720 graphics mode, 16bit. OpenGL drivers: Opengl32.dll from Metabyte Wicked3D miniport, glide2x.dll from NT4.0
