SDL library is a multiplatform library used in games and multimedia applications.
Simple DirectMedia Layer is a cross-platform multimedia library designed to provide low level access to audio, keyboard, mouse, joystick, 3D
hardware via OpenGL, and 2D video framebuffer. It is used by MPEG playback software, emulators, and many popular games, including the award winning
Linux port of "Civilization: Call To Power."
This library is not really used yet on OS/2 but this should eliminate the chicken/egg problem at least ;)
The future of the port depends on the need for it so you are welcome to port games and other things based on libsdl to OS/2 and eCS. Check the

Any patches, enhancements or questions regarding the OS/2 port (and just

Compiler used for this port: OpenWatcom, but GCC should probably work as well with some minor changes of the original makefiles (patches are
welcome).
The following things are missing from this SDL implementation:
- CD-ROM
- Joystick
- Any kind of hardware acceleration or optimization
- Window Manager messages
